I was able to do some garden work in our backyard this weekend, something I always enjoy. We’ve had several garden boxes in the backyard for a number of years. I’ve had green beans growing in one of them this spring. They’ve been blooming for a couple weeks now. I was happy to see the first beans ready to be picked this weekend. We had some with our supper Saturday, and there were already enough more Sunday to enjoy them again. Cooked with frozen corn and peas, they were delicious! Here’s a picture of our garden bean box. The red framed tomato tower in the forefront houses a growing cherry tomato plant that has bunches of nice tomatoes coming along, while the half whiskey barrel on the other side has a blueberry bush that had its first ripe blueberries this weekend. We’re looking forward to more!
