The Enchanted Rock

We visited the Enchanted Rock State Park while Rand and Colleen were visiting us last week. We drove to Fredericksburg one morning and enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Herb Farm Restaurant. Later we drove another 17 miles to the park. The Enchanted Rock is an unique pink-domed mountain. Below, Rand, Colleen and Carol are standing part way up the rock. It took almost an hour to get to the summit. Once up there, we enjoyed magnificent views in every direction.

We took a roundabout route home so we could stop at the Taste of Ethiopia Restaurant near Austin for supper. Cathy and Alan Peterson joined us there and we were able to catch up with each other as we enjoyed our dinner. Our get-together made a nice finale for Rand and Colleen’s visit as they had to fly back to Indiana early the next morning. We enjoyed our time together greatly!
