We had a freeze here in San Antonio in the week before Christmas, so I reluctantly harvested a plateful of green tomatoes from our nice fall tomato plants. We had enjoyed a few ripe tomatoes in the previous weeks, and were hoping for more, but I knew these would not survive the freeze. I put the plateful on our kitchen window-sill that catches the full morning sun, and waited to see what would happen. Well, it looks like we will get a nice Christmas tomato crop after all! They were all green a few days ago, but they’re ripening nicely, as you can see. Cheers!
