Our Chapel service this morning tied into a special Leadership and Evangelism Summit being hosted by the Faculty of Theology here this week. Delegations from the USA and about ten African countries were recognized at the Chapel service. The message for the morning was given by Bishop Nhiwatiwa, the resident bishop of the United Methodist Church in Zimbabwe. He spoke eloquently on the theme “Come and See,” based on a scriptural reference in Matthew. John the Baptist had sent two of his followers to Jesus to ask if he was the “real deal,” so to speak. Jesus responded by telling them to “Come and See” what was happening when people came in contact with him, and to report this to John. Bishop Nhiwatiwa used this theme to say, come and see what is happening with the church in Africa. Exciting things are happening in Africa and at Africa University. “Come and See!”
