The Cactus Pear Music Festival provides outstanding chamber music in San Antonio in early July every year. Last evening we, and about 500 other music lovers, attended an event performed at the Coker United Methodist Church. We were treated to a wonderful evening of classical music, featuring Bach, Mozart and César Franck, played by a marvelous pianist and four world class string players. They held us spell-bound for two hours. At the end they were given a standing ovation and were called back three times by the sustained applause.
The festival is putting on a number of performances during the first two weeks of July. We’re privileged to have tickets for another great performance by these artists on Saturday evening, featuring the work of four different composers. What a beautiful way to celebrate life!
