Blustery Week on the Beach

We stayed at Mustang Towers on Mustang Beach this week (Mustang for the bands of wild mustangs found on the island when it was first settled in the 1800s.) Its been blustery and cold on the beach with leaden skies and a gray surf all week, as you can see in the picture.

Interestingly enough, it was one of our most relaxing enjoyable timeshare weeks ever. We hunkered down in the apartment, did a lot of reading, and enjoyed cooking nice hot meals. I donned my Eskimo-like parka and cap with earmuffs each afternoon and ventured out on the beach, and though I was the only one crazy enough to be out there except for some gulls, I got in a great invigorating walk every day. It’s been a good week!

  1. Hi, Ed, YOur week sounds idyllic! Where is this huge body of water – the gulf? I am loving our cold but sunny days that are perfect for long walks, even minus a dog, although I am slow getting used to not having Bonnie for motivation. I gave her up after she bit Ann’s second irritating little dog, plus I decided that I had fostered her really well and that it was time for me to be less tied down for whatever is on the horizon. Decisions, decisions!! I hope you are enjoying being back home and that your week away served its purpose well. Love, PEg Date: Sat, 14 Dec 2013 04:28:45 +0000 To:
