My walk this morning took me across the covered bridge, but then I left the paved road to explore a gravel side road going toward the mountains. I followed it a little ways in the direction of a high narrow waterfall I could see coming down the side of a mountain. The woods beside the road had many birch and fir trees, but as I rounded a curve in the road, a break in the woods revealed a surprise. A well tended meadow held a little country cemetery in it. Its backdrop was the mountain with the waterfalls high above. The tranquil scene was beautiful, one of prettiest final resting places I have ever seen. I wouldn’t mind resting there myself!
