A Windy Day and a Glorious Evening

The temperature was a bit warm when I went on my morning walk. In fact, I took my sweater off before going half a mile. The day was windy. By evening, when I walked down to get the mail around seven o’clock, the breeze was cool and the atmosphere was clear, evidently due to the cool front coming through.

It was so nice that I ended up taking a half-hour walk. The sun was still bright in the west, but the breeze in my face was refreshing. When I got to the top of Misty Peak, the distant skyline of downtown San Antonio was more clear and distinct than it had been for several days. As I walked back to the house for the rest of the evening, I reflected that the joy and peacefulness to be freely found in a simple walk may be more precious than silver or gold.
