I joined the Triton Sports Club in San Antonio yesterday after checking it out. This club has an “over 50” tennis group that plays Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings every week of the year. It’s exactly the kind of opportunity I’ve been looking for, and I’m excited about this chance to get back into tennis again. What makes this place especially neat is that it has nice gym facilities also. I walked briskly on one of the treadmills yesterday morning, and then did several sets of resistance exercises for the upper body: a great combination. One of the exercise workshops last week documented how much more physiologic benefit there is to health in regularly combining endurance and resistance kinds of exercise than with either type alone. That message was what motivated me to look for a good gym, and look what I found so quickly. This is going to be great fun!!!
