Yesterday I had my proposed article for the Citrus County Chronicle returned to me for revision. I was being censored for the first time in over 25 years of being a columnist for the Chronicle because I had been too frank and liberal in using a certain _ _ _ _ word related to my topic of hygienic living. I had very mixed feelings about this. I understand the Chronicle’s position, but I also understand better than ever before why authors don’t like to be censored. I felt like an eight-year-old third-grader whose hand was slapped for saying a “dirty” word, which I guess is what I did. Ah well. At least I’ve been promoted to the third grade!
