I had the joy of walking ten kilometers for the San Antonio CROP Walk this morning. It was a perfect day for a good walk – cool and overcast, but no rain and not too cold. Several hundred people are walking for this cause today and tomorrow. The purpose is to raise funds for the hungry around the world. It’s estimated that about $60,000 will be raised here this weekend, with one fourth of that to be used for local food banks, and three fourths going to Church World Service for international hunger needs. Much of it will probably go to Haiti and Chile this year. Interfaith CROP walks are held in many cities around the country every year to raise millions of dollars for the needy and the hungry.
My thanks go to each of you who helped sponsor me on my walk. It is a very worthy cause, and I enjoyed a great walk!
